In most of the Linux distribution Firefox comes as the default web browser. But what if you want to use google chrome as your default web browser… Since google chrome is not an open source web browser it is not included in the Ubuntu repositories. So here are two ways that you can install Google Chrome in Ubuntu.
Install Chrome in Ubuntu
Visit the Google Chrome official web site from a web browser available in your system (Firefox is the default browser in Ubuntu) and click on the download button to download chrome for Ubuntu.
Select your download option (When it comes to Ubuntu you need to get the .deb package) and press accept an install.
Once the download completed, double click on the downloaded .deb package of google chrome. Then Ubuntu software center will open, you can click the Install button to start installing the Google Chrome browser.
Or else, when the download complete, open the downloads directory. Then open your terminal in that directory. Run the following command to install the .deb file.
dpkg -i <.deb package name>
If you get any dependency error run the following command to install the missing dependencies.
sudo apt-get install -f
